First Frost with Leica M11
When you wake up and can see your own breath indoors, I guess it’s a sign the temperatures are dropping.
Taking the dogs out for their morning toilet, and I saw the first frost of the year.
I grabbed the M11, threw a hoodie on and just headed out for a quick walk around the block.
I wasn’t out as early as I’d have liked, but 9:30am is still respectable enough.
The light wasn’t anything to write home about. Just a pleasant softness, which is… fine? Though I always look forward to a bit more of a warm glow and harsh shadows on mornings like this.
In fact, as I walked around - I was just enjoying taking photos, rather than being excited to see any of them afterwards.
Though I do feel good about them now. I like the quiet mood of it all.
The walk around my bit is generally 3-5km depending which route I go, though as I started to warm up I just felt like carrying on, so I extended it and took a walk around the airport where I found some more autumn colours.
I keep an eye out for the towerblocks as I walk around the area, and try to make a photo work whenever I see them.
I’ve got a fair few of them now.
By the time I’d gotten home, I’d clocked 10km. Not bad.
I often see chat about how some photographers get bored of taking the same photos. But I don’t. They never really feel the same to me, and the frost this morning made these last two a solid addition to my collection of similar shots in my local area too.
