2025: February on film

Yes, that’s a trampoline in a hedge. Guess what, the weather is still shite.

We took two weeks out to go to Scarborough and the poor weather persisted, to the point where I barely managed to get through a couple rolls of film which doesn’t seem too bad, but considering I went down with TEN rolls barely shooting two was a pathetic effort.

I’m mostly down to shooting black and white at the moment because I can barely afford colour film. My film fridge at home is barren.

Annoyingly, my head kinda collapsed in on itself while visiting family. In part I blame the stress from the financial burden of our fucking car which died yet again. I am close to just setting the fucking thing on fire.

So with that, I wasn’t really in the most sociable of mindsets. I did manage a couple of woodland walks though, and I also got to see my nephews. We live far enough away that any visit we manage to make really hammers home just how fast they are growing.

There was gonna be a couple of photos I took as a guest at Robyn’s friends wedding this month but I don’t have the scans, so I guess if you want to see them just come back in a few days and I’ll have quietly dropped them in here.

Here they are!

As anyone who knows me personally or is familiar with my blog over the years, me and ‘employment’ have barely ever been a meaningful pairing, but I’ve been putting in shifts at Gulabi on and off for the last year and a half now on an as and when basis, and as of this month I joined the team officially.

Being tucked away in a lab, hands on developing and scanning film… yeah, it seems to be for me.

Here’s Sam, with the look of a man who has just passed his driving test.

There's various routes I can take to the lab on my morning/evening commutes, which provide perfect opportunities to finish off rolls of film en route. So here’s a selection of my commute bullshit from this month which brings me to the end of this post.
