Whitby Animal Sanctuary just rescued 1,383 hens and they need your help

Robyn, who I spend like a million hours walking dogs with on the regular, volunteers for the Whitby Wild Sanctuary and a few nights ago assisted the sanctuary in the rescue of 1,383 hens.

They started at 10pm and worked through until 5am.

The sanctuary are trying to re-home as many as they can, and the amount of food they’re going to be needing over the next few weeks has obviously gone up considerably, so if you’re able to help them out with a donation then please get in touch right here and follow the instructions.

I spent a day volunteering with Robyn back in October and I took my camera along to document it. We watered and fed all the animals while other volunteers took care of other duties around the site.

I hadn’t gotten around to sharing photos from the day but as the Sanctuary needs your help right now this is probably a good a time as any for me to do that and show you just some of the injured/abandoned animals they care for.

Paywalls are a hassle. If you enjoyed this post, please consider a donation so I can continue sharing everything in one place.
