In York with Viktoria Addison

I recently spent some time in York eating food and hanging out with my friend Viktoria Addison. We’ve been meaning to arrange a proper shoot with one another for a little while now, and it just so happened she was going to be dancing that night in York so that was the perfect opportunity to make it happen.

We worked out that we’d known each other for a long time, but actually hadn’t seen each other in almost 4 years which is pretty crazy to think about.

Normally, I think I’d feel pretty anxious about hanging out with folk I haven’t seen in a long while but that wasn’t the case here. And is a definite sign of having a solid friendship when you don’t need to be in touch with people all of the time. Everyone has their own shit going on.

We grabbed some pizza, and chatted for a while over tea and fudge, and then some pints by the river. In fact it was a few hours before we even started to properly take photos, just under the bridge opposite where we were drinking.

Sarah & Katie’s Wedding, York

I’ve been to few weddings, and aren’t mad keen on the idea of them in general which is less to do with the folk getting married, and more just the that I’m not a fan of the whole faff of it all.

This wasn’t a faff though, and when Sarah casually invited me over Messenger and pitched it as a big party, it sounded fun and I said I’d be there.

I stayed in York with Jeffels & Laura and we arrived early to help set up. Sarah & Katie assembled a band so they could play their own party. I got to fill in on bass during the soundcheck which I think is the first time I’d played music with Sarah since we were back in School.

A free bar, & fairy lights everywhere.

Walking my brain back together.

Just taking a short break from writing about the hitching adventure at the moment to focus on a few things I’ve done this past week since being back in Scarborough. Also because I want to post at least once before the end of the month as I have been a bit quiet recently. This is probably going to be a pretty long post but then again I don’t think I’ve had a short post for a while so I guess you’re either used to it or are just happy reading the first half and leaving.

The hitching tour ended for me in Manchester, and I managed to find a bus I could get for free the majority of the way home to Scarborough. Not bad.

The morning after I got back I did a short section of the wolds way walk with my parents.

Let’s Talk Daggers

Bit of a throw back here.

It’s rare that I go to a gig now a days, so witnessing a band with a genuine energy that I kinda want to get involved in is even rarer. I was shooting this show for Mononoke earlier this year as it was their launch night, and I was real fucking impressed with Let’s Talk Daggers.

The room was small, it was rammed, and I was squashed right at the front and managed to get this photograph.
