The Old Roman Road

The weather lately hasn’t been too great, but we managed to get a break today.

My pal Ian picked me up and we went for a drive into the Moors to have a walk along the Old Roman Road. According to the information board, people aren’t sure if it was built by the Romans or not. I’ve known it as the Roman Road all my life so I’m sure the name’ll stick.

I realised all this is essentially on my doorstep, I haven’t been up here since my early teens and it’s quite mad that I don’t end up here more often…

Anyway, here’s a few photos from today (including a couple from Thornton Le Dale).

Oh, one more thing:

“The Roman Road runs straight and bare…”

Don’t be fooled, it’s proper wonky.
